Bifrost – an artistic sculptural piece for Roskilde Festival 2011

For the Roskilde Festival 2011 Råderum created the art installation Bifrost – an artistic statement fitting 550 people and with glowing satellites at the new music area Gloria close to the grand Orange Stage. The installation was a unique combination of art, architecture, landscape architecture and light design with intimate lounge areas and surprising playful details.

The Bifrost sculpture was connected thematically to the Gloria-area’s distinct nordic tone and scandinavian light and added playful interacting details. Besides the artistic intention the piece functioned as a meeting point and a dining setting for the complete Gloria-area.

The project was a collaboration between parties with a variety of backgrounds and therefore also an experiment in creating an artistic process across creative point of views: for this project art, entrepreneurship, landscape architecture and construction joins forces. The partners were Søren Lindgreen from Peberholmen and the two landscape architect students Lasse Ryberg and Søren Sloth Jørgensen along side 20 volunteers.
